Zhone Technologies Introduces New zNID Active Ethernet Product Portfolio at TelcoTV 2011

Zhone Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZHNE), a global leader in FTTx network access solutions, today announced the immediate availability of its new zNID 24xx GE Optical Network Terminals (ONTs). The new Active Ethernet indoor ONTs, part of the zNID 24xx series indoor ONTs, provide a cost-efficient, high performance solution for delivering high bandwidth services. Zhone will showcase the new family of zNID indoor ONTs at TelcoTV 2011 in New Orleans, Oct. 25-27, 2011.

Zhone’s zNID Active Ethernet indoor ONT portfolio is designed to meet the needs of the bandwidth intensive services being deployed to homes and businesses today, and in the future. Integrating and leveraging the Zhone Management System (ZMS™) and Zhone EZ Touch Provisioning System™, the new indoor ONTs are ideal for distances up to 20 kms, provide multiple POTS and GE port options, WiFi and IP Video support, wire-speed bridging and routing functionality and can be conveniently deployed on the desktop or wall-mounted.

The new zNID GE/AE 24xx family includes the following three products, all providing Active Ethernet, targeted at the indoor residential market segment:

• ZNID-GE-2402: 2 GE LAN ports
• ZNID-GE-2424: 4 GE LAN ports
• ZNID-GE-2426: 2 POTS ports, 4 GE LAN ports, 802.11n WiFi, USB
