Helping people work online, Zoho
today announced the Zoho Docs Extension for Chromebook. Available now in
the Chrome Web Store, the new extension lets users of Google Cr-48
Chromebooks upload and view their documents in Zoho
Docs.
“One of the key features Google incorporated into the Chrome OS is a
file manager similar to those found on Windows and Mac computers,” said
Raju Vegesna, Zoho evangelist. “Thanks to the Chrome file manager and
Google’s well-documented APIs, we are able to let Chromebook users
upload, view, edit and share documents in Zoho Docs.”
The Zoho Docs Extension for Chromebook effectively unlocks email
attachments, external storage device files, and other files managed by
the Chromebook File Manager. After installing the Zoho Docs Extension
for Chromebook, Chromebook users can 1) click on the files they want to
share or save to the cloud and 2) select the “Save to Zoho Docs” option.
Files uploaded to Zoho Docs can then be viewed within Zoho Docs. Users
can also edit files stored in Zoho Docs by simply clicking the “edit”
link found in the file view window. The file will then open in a new
browser tab and with the corresponding application—Zoho
Writer for documents, Zoho
Sheet for spreadsheets, and Zoho
Show for presentations.
